Mexico Sunshine

The sunsets at PV are spectacular and this year was no different.

Each trip to Puerto Vallarta would not be complete without dinner at Pipi's. The fajitas are still the best and complete with the guacamole prepared right at the table. We were pleased to see so many of the servers and helpers are still there from when we first went there in 1997.

We celebrated our 30th wedding anniversary with a trip to Puerto Vallarta. We had a great time and although you normally think of an anniversary trip to be quiet and private our's was a bit different as we had Tucker with us. We found that even with one child this trip was quite different because we only had one child with us. We were blessed with great weather and fairly good air travel. We had to connect overnight in Seattle on the way down and then on the way back we connected overnight in Los Angeles. Here are some pictures that we took. This picture is of the "muffin mame" The muffin man now has some competition on the beach in front of the resort. She was there earlier each day and her muffins were actually better.

The reason this blog was started was to stay in touch better with our daughter Melissa who is studying in Europe for the semester. As we have communicated, she continually reminds us that we have not stayed up to date with our postings. Part of the diliquence is due to camera problems. I think the pictures add a needed dimension to a blog, therefore I haven't posted anything until now. I will have to update the blogs when pictures are available.
The first week in March we went to Rexburg to visit our daughter Sunni and her family and to participate in a baby blessing of our newest granddaughter, Kobi Jane Lewis. As grandparents we could not be more pleased with this precious baby or her parents who love her and have welcomed her into their home and family.
This month we celebrate 30 years of marriage. Some days it seems only yesterday this young, and madly in love couple, went to Idaho Falls to start their lives together. As we do some simple celebration we hope our camera is working so pictures can tell the story.
Tucker is busy in sports. On the 6th of March he participated in a school district jump rope contest. He made it into the finals for 5th grade boys doing the backward speed skipping. He was pleased he made it that far. On the 13th and 14th he played in a basketball tournament in Nampa. The team did average winning two games and losing two games.
Recently Sunni sent a link to a very informative talk giving by an economist, who is of the Catholic faith, who spoke to students at BYU. I am hoping the link pastes in ok and there is no regulations preventing this: http://speeches.byu.edu/?act=browse&speaker=Brooks%2C+Arthur&topic=&type=&year=&x=10&y=4. It is worth the 35 minutes to review and listen to.

Grandkids

We got these pictures of the grandkids so need to show them off. Mason is 4, Akirah 2 (she will turn 3 in March) and Kobi was born in December 08.

Kobi may get through the challenges of older siblings by sleeping.

Mason started pre-school and has really enjoyed the learning and interaction with the other children.

Just the Beginning

This blog was created for the family to know we always have the light on for the kids and grandkids. The candles on the homefront are always lit. This will be a way for us to post pictures, comments and advise for family that is not at home.
Since we are less than competent in electronic communication it will be most likely a frustrating exercise in 'new aged' communications.
